Join our Wednesday Afternoon Book Group for a discussion of The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary by Simon Winchester.

DESCRIPTION:  Professor James Murray begins work compiling words for the first edition of the Oxford English Dictionary in the mid 19th century, and receives over 10,000 entries from a patient at Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum, Dr. William Minor.

We normally meet in person, but this month, we will be meeting virtually, using zoom.

NOTE: This novel is based on a true story.  It has also been made into a feature film, starring Sean Penn, Mel Gibson, and Natalie Dormer.
