Author Alex Myers will speak on his debut novel, Revolutionary, which tells the story of his ancestor, Deborah Sampson. In 1782, Sampson ran away from her home in Middleborough Massachusetts, disguised herself as a man, and fought in the Revolutionary War. Myers will discuss the research and writing of this book and how it related to his own journey coming out and living as a transgender person. Hosted by the Haverhill Public Library in collaboration with the Amesbury Public Library, Gleason Public Library, Parker Memorial Library, Pollard Memorial Library, Rockport Public Library, and Saugus Public Library.
