An Evening of Irish Music and Poetry: Presented by Deirdre Sweeney  (On-Line)

Join us for a virtual exploration of the basics and history of traditional Irish music, with live tunes on flute and whistle, interspersed with Irish-language (Gaeilge) poetry. Ms. Sweeney has spent many years involved in Irish traditional music, American fife and drum, and 18th-century colonial dance music, including teaching, performing, and arranging. She is also a member of the central Massachusetts Irish-language group Ár dTeanga Féin (meaning "Our Own Language") and encourages anyone with an interest in learning the language to visit their website www.adtf.org.
