In 1902, the Parker Library began a “Museum of Antiques.” Patrons were invited to lend historical items and memorabilia that reflected an earlier era of Dracut. The citizens left a menagerie of precious possessions and the museum was a great success. But alas, the library’s appetite for new books gradually grew until it no longer had room to display the artifacts. In 1929, the “Museum of Antiques” was relinquished to the Dracut Historical Society. Today, these 122-year-old relics are still cared for by the Society. Come and see what and where these precious historic artifacts from the library are located now.

Hosted by Dracut Historical Society Librarian, Barbara Varnum.
