​Often with traditional book clubs there's the scramble to finish the selected book, and the pressure to have something smart to say. Wouldn't it be great to have a book club where you could just enjoy books and friends—without any homework?

Silent Book Club ® is a global community of readers, with more than 1000 chapters in 50 countries around the world led by local volunteers. SBC members gather in public at bars, cafes, bookstores, libraries, and online to read together in quiet camaraderie for an hour. At the end of the hour, attendees can socialize—or not!

At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books... it's BYOBook. Don't have a book to bring? Don't worry, we're a library! We'll have a few suggestions set out, or you can ask a librarian for personalized recommendations.

Our chapter of the Silent Book Club meets the first Monday of the month in the Fireplace Room. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to pick a seat and share what they're reading - or not, there's no requirement to share! 6:30-7:30 is our silent reading hour, and 7:30-8:00 is our optional social time.
