Open Space Hike - Tranquility Trail

Thursday, June 206:00—7:00 PMOutdoorsMain Library28 Arlington Street, Dracut, MA, 01826

Explore local open spaces by joining a guided tour with a member of the Open Space Committee! We'll have several different hikes for teens and adults of all abilities throughout the summer and fall. Our second hike will be at Tranquility Trail at 680 Broadway. Please register so we can notify you if anything changes that day. We will leave the trailhead by 6:05pm so please consider arriving early. We also recommend taking measures to prevent tick bites, such as wearing long pants and light-colored clothing, and maybe using bug spray or other repellant.

The trail at Tranquility Trail and Extension (owned by Dracut Land Trust) is about 1⁄2 mile through the woods adjacent to Hay fields of the Ogonowski Memorial Preservation Farmland and runs by two vernal pools and the historic ruins of a sheep pen and well. There are benches and an amazing view from the top across the farmland and toward Boston. The Extension extends to the North and West through open wood and across the Four Oaks Country Club to access Central Dracut Trails via Brentwood Dr. Parking for the trail is on Broadway Rd. 1/8 mile east of Jones Ave.

Offered in partnership with the Open Space Committee.
