"Create Your Own Comic Strip" Workshop

For Kids and Teens ages 9 and up.

Did you know that anybody can be a cartoonist? Find out for yourself at the “Create Your Own Comic Strip!” workshop.

The two-hour workshop will cover:

● Introduction to types of comic strips and their themes and settings

● Inventing characters and their personality traits

● How to make the most of your individual drawing ability to create expressive characters

● Less is more: Mastering the limited space of a comic panel

● Devising gags and jokes

● Writing your comic strip script

● Execution of the final strip

It’s a fun way to learn how to create your own comic from scratch, and you'll leave having created the beginnings of an original comic strip!

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:

Artist Dave London, of Stow, Mass., is an award-winning cartoonist and humorous illustrator and member of the National Cartoonists Society; his clients include the Wall Street Journal, the Saturday Evening Post and Reader's Digest. Writer Pete Chianca, of Georgetown, Mass., is a journalist, currently with Boston Globe Media, who's been recognized with multiple awards for his humorous columns and commentary.
