Materials Included:

2 pieces of construction paper

1 bead

1 push pin

What You Need:

Scissors

Glue Stick

Pencil with Eraser

Crayons or markers

Directions:

1. Cut two identical squares from paper

2. Decorate the squares any way you would like

3. Glue the undecorated sides of the squares together- glue along the edges as well as the entire back area of the squares. Let the glue dry

4. Cut out four diagonal lines starting from the corners going halfway up to the center of the square

5. After making the four slits, you will have 8 tips total on your square. Take one of the tips and bring it to the center of the square without creasing the paper. You can glue the tip in place or just hold it with your hand as you do the next steps

6. Take the third tip and bring it to the center of the square, you can glue it in place or hold with your hand

7. Next, bring tip five and then tip seven to the center of the square, you can glue it in place or hold with your hand.

8. Insert a push pin at the center. Wiggle the push pin around to make the hole a bit larger.

9. Attach the pinwheel to a pencil by pushing the pin into the pencil’s eraser. Optional, you can put a bead between the pinwheel and the eraser. This helps the pinwheel rotate better.
