Centennial Celebration: Richard Howe: Dr. Moses Greely Parker's Life and Legacy
Monday, November 146:00—7:30 PMMeeting RoomMain Library28 Arlington Street, Dracut, MA, 01826
Moses Greeley Parker (1842-1917) is best known as a philanthropist whose estate, among other things, donated the building and land for the Dracut library and created the Parker Lecture series that has educated and entertained generations of people in Greater Lowell. But Moses Greeley Parker did much more than that. He was a veteran of the Civil War who was present for some of the war’s most notable battles and events; he was an accomplished doctor; he was an early investor in Alexander Graham Bell’s American Telephone Company; and he invented the telephone number. Join us on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 6 p.m. when Richard Howe will discuss Dr. Parker’s life and accomplishments. Richard Howe is the Register of Deeds for the Middlesex North District. He is also the founder of Lowell Walks and has written several books on the history of the city of Lowell. This program will be held in person at the library and virtually on Zoom. Please register to get the Zoom link if you are joining us virtually and so we have a headcount if you are joining us in person.
