 “Beginner's Chess for All Ages” Course Description:

​Chess is a fun, family activity for all ages from children to grandparents.  Join us for this exciting introduction to the game!  (It is NOT necessary to have a Chess Set to attend this program!)

This class teaches you the fundamentals of chess as a strategy game that is the most popular game in the world. In one hour you will learn the basics of playing chess including: 

Setting up the chess men 

Using the pawns 

Chess pieces and how they move to win 

Special moves 

Ten tips for playing a better game 

How to win a game of chess in 4 moves

About Glenn Davison:  Glenn Davison presents this class with the enthusiasm of a lifelong chess player who plays often and offers many interesting details about the game of chess.

Glenn Davison has taught many chess classes and his students say that his seminars are interesting and fun for everyone. His instruction includes the fact that "Ivan the Terrible" was a keen chess player who died while playing chess. 

Glenn has been a member of the Massachusetts Chess Association and the US Chess Federation.
