Celebrating Black History Month, The Stoughton Diversity and Inclusion Organization (SDIO) and the Stoughton Public Library have invited Richard L. Taylor to speak about his book Martha's Vineyard: Race, Property, and the Power of Place.
An excellent way to learn about the rich, unique history of Martha's Vineyard. Richard L. Taylor does a wonderful job setting the scene of Martha's Vineyard in the midst of racial discrimination in the U.S. and the solace African Americans received when settling on the Island of Martha's Vineyard.
Each chapter in the beginning of the book focuses on different influential people that made history on the Vineyard.
Registration is required. Registrants will receive the Zoom link prior to the program date.
